Social skill/Pragmatic Special needs Summer Fun Sign -ups now!
Our Pragmatics/Social Skills Program is set up into a week afternoon experience 1-4pm
July 30-August 2rd (Mon-Thurs)
Reverse mainstreaming this year to provide more social models and opportunities!
- Daily opportunity to work with a typical peer mentor (reverse mainstreaming) during cooperative activities
- Each day will begin with a group gathering including songs, yoga and parachute activities, review of schedule
- Daily nature exploration through daily short hikes/walks and scavenger hunts
- Active participation in gardening including weeding, planting, harvesting and preparation of foods from our expansive garden
- Nature based arts and crafts
- Exposure and hands on experiences with farm animals (feeding the animals, brushing animals, collecting eggs etc.)
- Daily healthy snacks prepared by the participants (homemade lemonade, applesauce, salad from the garden, salsa,)
- Closing group with songs and review of day’s activities
